How we see the world (‘reality’) directs our actions in it; at the same time, our actions in the world, and more importantly our interpretation of their consequences, impact back on to our worldview. This operates as a meaning feedback system; our actions might reinforce or validate our worldview, or cause it to be altered, dismantled or problematised in some way (Berger and Luckmann, 1966).
